Swordpile — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 28 September 2026

Swordpile ("the app") is an offline idle merge game developed by Anvilbyte Studios. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle.

The short version

Swordpile has no account to create, no sign-in to play, and no server of ours. Your game progress is stored on your device. On Android you may optionally sign in with Google Play Games to back your save up to your own Google account, and on iPhone and iPad you may optionally back it up to your own iCloud — nothing is uploaded unless you ask for it. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal information. The app shows ads and offers optional purchases; the third-party services that provide those features process some device data, described below.

Game data

Your save (progress, settings, purchases state) is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app deletes it. The optional save-export feature produces a code you control entirely. The only way a copy leaves your device is the optional cloud backup described next, and only when you tap it.

Cloud backup (optional)

On Android, the Save Data screen offers a Back up and Restore pair, built on Google Play Games saved games. It is entirely optional and does nothing on its own: there is no automatic or background backup, and the app never asks you to sign in unless you press one of those two buttons.

When you do press one, Google Play Games asks you to sign in with your Google account, and the app writes a copy of your save into the saved-games storage attached to that account. That copy is yours: it is stored by Google on your behalf, not sent to us. We run no server and receive no copy of your save. The app never receives or stores your name, your email address, or your Google account details — it only learns whether a backup exists and when it was made, and keeps that note on your device. You can stop using the feature at any time, and you can delete the backup itself from your Google account's Play Games saved-games data. If you never tap Back up, nothing is ever uploaded.

On iPhone and iPad, the same Save Data screen offers Back up to iCloud and Restore from iCloud. It works the same way: nothing happens unless you press one of them, and there is no automatic or background backup. The app never asks you to sign in; it uses the iCloud account already signed in on your device. Pressing Back up writes a copy of your save into your own iCloud, in the app's private storage that only your iCloud account can reach. That copy is stored by Apple on your behalf and counts toward your iCloud storage; it is never sent to us, and we cannot read it. The app only learns whether a backup exists, when it was made and its short summary, and keeps the date and that summary on your device. To delete the backup, open your device's Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage (called Storage on some versions), choose Swordpile and delete its data. If you never tap Back up to iCloud, nothing is ever uploaded.

On both platforms, the app asks your phone to leave the save out of the phone's own backup (Google's cloud backup on Android; iCloud and computer backups on iPhone and iPad), so a phone restored from such a backup normally starts a fresh save. A direct phone-to-phone transfer can still bring the save along. To move your progress reliably, use the cloud backup above, or the save-export code.

Advertising

The app shows a banner ad and optional rewarded videos, served by Google AdMob. We have configured ads to be non-personalized: they are selected from contextual information rather than an advertising profile. To serve ads, Google processes certain device data — including device identifiers, IP address (which implies coarse location), and ad-interaction diagnostics — as an independent provider. We do not send AdMob any information about you or your gameplay. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data in AdMob apps.

In the European Economic Area and the UK, a consent dialog (Google User Messaging Platform) is shown before any ads are served, as required by law.

Rewarded videos are always optional and only ever play when you press a clearly labeled button. Purchasing "Ad-Free Forge" or "Forgekeeper's Pact" removes the banner; rewarded videos remain available by choice.

Purchases

Optional purchases are processed entirely by the store you bought them from: Google Play Billing on Android, or the App Store on iPhone and iPad. We never see or store your payment details. The app keeps only a record of which products you own so it can honor them. Purchases can be restored from the More menu.

Analytics

The app may record basic, anonymous usage events (for example, "a session started" or "a boss was first defeated") to help us understand whether the game's difficulty and pacing work. These events contain no personal information, no device identifiers, no location, and no free-form text, and cannot be linked to you.

Notifications

If you grant notification permission, the app schedules local reminders (for example, when your idle earnings are full). These are generated on your device; nothing is sent to a server. You can decline or revoke the permission at any time.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience aged 13 and up. It shows only non-personalized ads and collects no personal information from any user.

Changes

If the app's data practices change (for example, if analytics is expanded), this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before the change ships.
